Light Engine Mechanic

About the role

Kana Construction Limited is seeking a full‑time Light Engine Mechanic to join its on‑site team in Port Moresby. You will be responsible for keeping small engines and related construction equipment running safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair light engines, power tools, and compact construction equipment.
• Perform routine servicing, mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting, and both scheduled and unscheduled repairs.
• Maintain accurate service records and report equipment status to supervisors.
• Collaborate with workshop and field teams to minimise equipment downtime.
• Follow all safety procedures and company standards in both workshop and field environments.

Required profile

• Relevant trade qualification or certificate in mechanical engineering, automotive, diesel fitting, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, parts catalogs, and maintenance schedules.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety and adherence to company policies.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
