About the role
The Project Analyst will support the financial and administrative management of the UNDP‑funded project “Establishing Systems for Sustainable Integrated Land‑use Planning across New‑Britain Island” in Papua New Guinea, and assist the Project Manager in overall project delivery. The role also provides occasional support to other GEF‑funded projects.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in project planning, preparation of work plans, annual/quarterly budgets and proposals.
- Ensure compliance with UNDP Project Operational Policies, SOPs and provide guidance to staff on administrative procedures.
- Support gender‑equality mainstreaming, including data collection and preparation of background materials.
- Coordinate project events, procurement, record‑keeping, recruitment and contracting activities.
- Maintain partnerships with UN agencies, government bodies, NGOs and academic institutions, and update stakeholder databases.
- Facilitate communication with partners and beneficiaries, and produce high‑quality project visibility materials.
- Contribute to resource mobilisation by horizon scanning and supporting donor engagement.
- Support monitoring, evaluation and reporting, including data collection, analysis and preparation of progress reports.
- Monitor project expenditures against budget, recommend corrective actions and prepare finance‑related correspondence.
- Organise field visits, workshops, roundtables and conferences, and assist with risk‑management planning.
- Promote knowledge sharing, capacity‑building activities and dissemination of lessons learned within the country office and regionally.
