Senior Engineer – Roads (PNG)

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Engineer (Roads) to join a major road infrastructure project in Papua New Guinea (PNG). The role provides specialist technical leadership across planning, design, procurement, construction supervision and asset management phases.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist technical leadership and delivery of road and highway engineering services across all project phases.
• Lead or contribute to road and highway designs, pavement engineering solutions, geometric design, road safety assessments, drainage coordination, rehabilitation strategies, and construction support services.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams and support project managers to achieve delivery objectives.
• Ensure engineering outputs meet quality, safety, environmental and client requirements and comply with SJ Group’s BMS, PMS, design standards and quality procedures.
• Work closely with clients, contractors, government agencies and multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable, cost‑effective transport infrastructure solutions.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in road and highway engineering.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Open to male or female candidates.
