Associate – Assurance Audit (Audit Team)

About the role

As an Associate in EY’s Audit team in Papua New Guinea, you will receive comprehensive training and development to build a better working world for our people, clients and communities. You’ll work alongside diverse, globally‑connected teams and gain exposure to audit risk, accounting technical matters and client engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Support audit processes, considering audit risk issues and accounting technical matters such as revenue, financial instruments and income taxes.
• Engage professionally with clients, providing advice and identifying improvement opportunities in business processes.
• Conduct fieldwork efficiently as part of a team and keep managers updated on audit engagements.
• Develop understanding of current market trends and audit methodologies.

Required profile

• A relevant university degree.
• Progress towards or completion of a recognised accounting qualification (CA or CPA).
• 18‑24 months experience delivering external audit and assurance engagements.
• Experience supporting planning, execution and reporting on audits.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
• Strong communication, negotiation and collaborative skills.
