Category Manager – Consumer Electronics

About the role

We are looking for a Category Manager to own and grow key product categories such as Mobile Phones, Audio and Appliances. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of the category, from selection and pricing to inventory management and performance analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse sales data, stock levels and market trends to optimise category performance.
• Review new product line‑ups and decide which models suit the Papua New Guinea market.
• Maintain ordering plans aligned with forecasts and supplier lead times.
• Identify urgent re‑order needs and manage end‑of‑life stock efficiently.
• Liaise with brand partners to stay updated on roadmaps and product changes.
• Collaborate with marketing and brand managers to align promotional campaigns with inventory.
• Work closely with retail and commercial sales teams to drive product sell‑through.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in product/category management, procurement, supply chain or retail merchandising.
• Strong analytical mindset with a solid understanding of pricing, margin and stock turn.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.
• Experience in consumer electronics, technology or FMCG is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with reporting and data analysis tools.
