Commercial Manager

About the role

Laba Holdings Limited is seeking a permanent Commercial Manager to lead pricing, contracts, variations, claims and cost recovery across its group of businesses supporting PNG LNG and Papua LNG projects.

Key responsibilities

• Own the price build for every bid, re‑tender and work order, including labour rates, statutory on‑costs, overheads, management fee and margin.
• Lead commercial negotiations with client procurement and head‑contractor teams within approved positions.
• Manage variations, change notices, claims and cost‑recovery, keeping all registers current.
• Administer contracts, including amendments, extensions and compliance with client requirements.
• Run the bid calendar and bid office, ensuring document control on every submission.
• Deliver monthly commercial reports on revenue, margin, work‑in‑progress, forecast and outstanding variations.

Required profile

• At least ten years of commercial or contracts management experience in resources, oil & gas or construction services, with five years as a commercial manager.
• Proven experience pricing and negotiating services contracts with Tier 1 operators or EPC head contractors.
• Degree in commerce, accounting, quantity surveying, engineering or law.
• Working knowledge of the PNG Employment Act 1978 and labour agreements on resource projects.

Required skills

• Strong financial modelling in Excel.
• Command of rate build‑ups, schedule‑of‑rates and measured contracts.
• Experience managing variations, claims and cost‑recovery processes.
