Emergency Response Officer

About the role

The Emergency Response Officer is a full‑time, on‑site position based at our food production facility in Port Moresby. You will be responsible for monitoring safety conditions, responding to emergencies, and coordinating incident management to protect people, assets, and the environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine safety and security patrols across the plant.
• Maintain and test emergency equipment, including fire extinguishers and alarms.
• Implement fire safety measures and support fire‑prevention programs.
• Participate in emergency drills and deliver safety‑awareness training.
• Assist with incident investigations, reporting, and corrective actions.
• Liaise with internal teams and external emergency services to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in emergency services or industrial incident response.
• Strong background in physical security and site surveillance.
• Firefighting experience and knowledge of fire‑prevention practices.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure, make sound decisions, and communicate clearly during crises.
• Physical fitness suitable for emergency duties and willingness to work shifts, weekends, or public holidays.
