Exploration Geologist – PNG Gold & Copper Projects (FIFO)

About the role

Join a well‑funded, publicly listed exploration company as an Exploration Geologist supporting high‑grade gold and copper projects in Papua New Guinea. You will work on‑site in a FIFO arrangement, contributing to drilling campaigns and geological mapping across island‑based field sites.

Key responsibilities

• Support and contribute to RC, diamond and air‑core drilling programs.
• Perform core logging, sampling and QA/QC in line with company procedures.
• Assist with drill‑program planning and day‑to‑day field supervision.
• Conduct geological mapping, sampling and target generation across project areas.
• Maintain accurate field and geological data records.
• Collaborate with a field crew of ~10 people, including local landowners and support staff.
• Ensure all field activities are carried out safely and in compliance with site requirements.
• Help prepare reports on exploration progress and technical findings.

Required profile

• Degree in Geology or related discipline.
• 3‑6 years of exploration geology experience, preferably in gold or copper‑gold projects.
• Experience with RC, diamond and/or air‑core drilling programs.
• Ability to work and live in remote jungle field conditions with basic camp facilities.
• Resilient, adaptable, safety‑focused and strong communicator.
• Willingness to work an extended overseas rotation (3‑4 weeks on‑site, 2 weeks off).

Required skills

• MicroMine software.
• Leapfrog and/or QGIS proficiency.
