HSE Advisor (Papua LNG)

About the role

The HSE Advisor will report to the Construction Superintendent and lead the implementation of health, safety and environment (HSE) systems for the Papua LNG project. The role focuses on preventing incidents, ensuring compliance, and supporting the project’s safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Promote HSE considerations during task planning, preparation and execution.
• Encourage reporting of incidents, near‑misses, unsafe acts and conditions.
• Conduct site audits, investigations, root‑cause analysis and report findings to the SHE Manager.
• Coordinate site inductions, pre‑starts and toolbox talks.
• Engage with client operations to identify high‑risk work and develop risk assessments and job hazard analyses.
• Maintain a visible onsite presence and monitor Permit‑to‑Work compliance.
• Lead incident reporting, investigations and timely corrective actions.
• Support HSE inspections, audits and tracking of corrective actions.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in the resources or major‑project sector.
• Relevant HSE qualifications and certification to PNG/Australian standards.
• Strong technical expertise in HSE management, emergency and medical response.
• Experience working with multicultural teams and strong stakeholder communication.
• Commitment to safety and ability to develop long‑term service relationships.
• International project experience is highly regarded.
• Open to PNG nationals only.
