HSE Coordinator – Port Moresby

About the role

McConnell Dowell is seeking a local HSE Coordinator to support the day‑to‑day coordination of health, safety, environment and quality (HSEQ) systems on a Papua New Guinea project. You will work closely with the HSE team to keep documentation accurate, report data, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate HSE documentation, records and document control.
• Compile and report HSE data and statistics.
• Maintain incident, hazard and HSEQ registers.
• Support audits, compliance and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Champion HSE reporting systems and assist with training and data entry.
• Support HSE meetings, events and wellbeing initiatives.
• Assist with injury management and related administration.
• Provide general HSE coordination and administration to the project team.

Required profile

• Previous experience in HSE coordination, administration or document control.
• Strong planning, organisational and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with HSE systems and documentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A relevant qualification in HSE, business administration, systems or a related field is advantageous.
