Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

Wärtsilä Energy is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily mechanical maintenance activities at a mine‑site power plant. You will ensure equipment reliability, safety, and performance while supporting the company’s transition to renewable energy solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily mechanical maintenance to keep machinery, instruments, and plant equipment operating safely.
• Execute major maintenance on engines and auxiliaries, meeting contract performance targets.
• Monitor condition of tools, parts, and materials, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure work complies with Wärtsilä’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and customer procedures.
• Inspect completed work for compliance with specifications and safety standards.
• Coach and mentor maintenance staff, assisting with complex equipment diagnostics.
• Develop and implement maintenance routines, schedules, and efficient task prioritisation.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• 5‑8 years of relevant experience, preferably with Field Service background.
• Hands‑on experience with diesel engine overhauls, especially Wärtsilä W20 or W26 models.
• Ability to work on an on/off rotational schedule at a mine site.

Required skills

• Knowledge of diesel engines, preferably Wärtsilä engines.
• Engine overhaul expertise (W20, W26).
• Mechanical maintenance coordination.
• Field Service experience.
• Maintenance planning and equipment monitoring.
