Procurement Associate – Fixed Term (G6)

About the role

UN Women is seeking a Procurement Associate to support its Business Unit in Port Moresby on a fixed‑term basis (G6 level). The role contributes to the implementation of procurement strategies that are fair, transparent and aligned with UN Women’s development objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of procurement strategies and policies to achieve best value for money.
• Ensure compliance of procurement activities with UN Women rules, regulations, policies and strategies.
• Assist in developing internal procurement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and mapping Business Unit procurement processes.
• Collaborate with the Regional Procurement Advisor to apply procurement policies and provide timely support on complex or high‑value cases.
• Organise procurement processes for the Business Unit and its projects.
• Provide input and support to procurement activities while following established procedures and escalating non‑routine matters.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in procurement or supply chain within an international or development context.
• Ability to work closely with Operations, Programme and Project teams and to exchange information effectively.
• Strong understanding of fairness, integrity and transparency principles in procurement.
• Good analytical and documentation skills for SOP development and process mapping.
