Project Engineer

About the role

The Project Engineer will lead assigned projects from engineering design through procurement, construction and commissioning. The role ensures projects meet safety, quality and schedule requirements while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with all relevant stakeholders to identify project needs and requirements.
• Develop business cases, project plans, budget estimates and schedules.
• Manage project budgets and timelines, tracking actual versus planned costs.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and applicable industry standards.
• Oversee FEED, HAZOP, MOC, risk assessment and other pre‑project technical reviews.
• Communicate with customers, operations and commercial teams to capture requirements and deadlines.
• Collaborate with procurement to raise purchase requisitions, conduct bid clarification meetings and ensure due‑diligence compliance.
• Track and monitor contractors during construction, including schedule adherence, work method compliance and safety documentation.
• Prepare daily permits, JSA, lifting plans, safety matrices and risk assessments for on‑site activities.
• Engage quality assurance personnel to review construction work against standards and scope.
• Coordinate site surveys, commissioning, close‑out activities and develop SOPs for commissioning.
• Manage timely submission of project‑related invoices from suppliers and contractors.

Required profile

• Strong ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines and external partners.
• Experience in budgeting, schedule management and cost tracking.
• Knowledge of safety policies, risk assessment and industry compliance standards.
• Proven capability to manage procurement processes and vendor interactions.
• Effective communication skills for interfacing with customers and internal teams.
