Senior Communication Associate (G-7) – Fixed Term, Port Moresby

About the role

The Senior Communication Associate will support the development and implementation of UNICEF’s digital strategy in Papua New Guinea. Working under the Communication Specialist, the role focuses on enhancing digital presence, engaging adolescents and young people, and promoting children’s rights through online campaigns.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of the digital strategy.
• Support the implementation of the digital strategy.
• Assist in the preparation of online campaigns.
• Manage country office backend portals and content.
• Support monitoring and evaluation of digital activities.
• Provide administrative assistance as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in digital communication, social media, or youth engagement.
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant field, which may replace part of the required experience.
• Fluency in English; fluency in Tok Pisin is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of an additional UN language is an asset.

Required skills

• Multimedia content creation across print, audio, video and web.
• Graphic design using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Social media management and analytics tools.
• Website administration using HTML, WordPress and Drupal CMS.
