Stakeholder Relations & Policy Manager

About the role

The Stakeholder Relations & Policy Manager will support the WCS Papua New Guinea Program by overseeing relationships with key stakeholders and guiding policy development. Reporting directly to the WCS PNG Country Director, this full‑time position is based in Port Moresby and may involve travel to other field sites and offices within PNG as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain effective relationships with government agencies, NGOs, community groups, and other partners.
• Lead the formulation, review, and implementation of policies that align with WCS’s conservation objectives.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities, including meetings, workshops, and consultations.
• Provide strategic advice to the Country Director on stakeholder and policy matters.
• Monitor and report on policy developments and stakeholder feedback relevant to program goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and policy management, preferably in the environmental or conservation sector.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse partners and navigate complex political environments.
• Willingness to travel within Papua New Guinea as required.
