Syrup Operator

About the role

The Syrup Operator role is based in Port Moresby and is responsible for producing Coca‑Cola beverages by accurately weighing, mixing and monitoring syrup batches. You will work in a fast‑paced FMCG environment, ensuring product quality and safety standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Weigh and measure ingredients according to formula and load them into mixers or start the conveyor system.
• Start mixers and control mixing time to achieve the correct product consistency.
• Compare the colour of each batch with a colour chart to verify specifications.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) and respond to breakdowns (CM) on mixing equipment.
• Carry out quality checks and take corrective actions when irregularities are identified.
• Coordinate with utilities, raw material, warehouse, QA and maintenance teams to ensure smooth production flow.

Required profile

• Well‑presented, personable and efficient individual able to work independently.
• Minimum Grade 12 education; technical certificate is a plus.
• At least 1 year of experience in production within an FMCG, manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Good knowledge of health and safety standards; not colour‑blind.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to work odd hours when required.

Required skills

• Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 22000, GMP and OHSAS 18001 standards.
