Communications Coordinator

About the role

The Communications Coordinator will lead strategic communications and public engagement for the Sustainable Highlands Region Core Road Network Project. Based in the Western Highlands, the role documents project progress and impact through stories, photos, videos and other communication products while ensuring donor branding compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate context‑driven content and creative plans that support the project.
• Lead goal setting, prioritisation, process and relationship management for communications.
• Provide orientation and capacity‑building on content and creative to project staff.
• Support the creation of external engagement materials such as briefs and progress reports.
• Ensure donor branding and communications compliance across all external materials.
• Produce knowledge products (case studies, videos, presentations) requested by donors.
• Conduct regular field visits to capture progress stories, photos and videos.
• Assist with public events, community campaigns, IEC material development and emergency communications.

Required profile

• Degree in Communications, Development Communication, Media, Journalism, Arts or a related field.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in communications or media.
• Proven experience in training and capacity‑building of staff.
• Fluency in English and Tok Pisin, with willingness to travel to remote communities.

• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Apple video/photo editing software.
