About the role
The Cost Engineer will provide cost engineering services to support project delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with cost control standards. The role involves producing detailed cost reports, guiding the site team on forecasting, and mentoring junior cost controllers.
Key responsibilities
- Develop integrated cost control plans and strategies aligned with group standards and project functions.
- Assist in creating and maintaining the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) with data integrity.
- Baseline detailed cash flow, including escalation and forex considerations, and establish invoice approval processes.
- Monitor and control progress using Earned Value Management (EVM), identify variances, and conduct root‑cause analysis.
- Coordinate with scheduling, accounting, contractors, and suppliers to align costs and invoices.
- Provide quality assurance on data collection and deliver audience‑focused cost performance reports.
- Support change management processes and update forecasts accordingly.
Required profile
- Experience in project cost engineering or cost control within construction or engineering projects.
- Ability to supervise and mentor junior staff.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to data integrity.
