Diamond Driller – Exploration & Mine Development

About the role

The Diamond Driller will support exploration, resource definition and mine development programmes in the remote Mave Central Province of Papua New Guinea. Working closely with geologists, supervisors and maintenance teams, the successful candidate will operate diamond drilling equipment safely and efficiently to deliver high‑quality core samples for critical mining projects.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor diamond drill rigs to meet planned drilling targets and productivity objectives.
• Deliver high‑quality core recovery and ensure accurate core handling, sampling and presentation.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections, preventative maintenance and consumables management to maximise rig availability.
• Perform first‑line troubleshooting and support corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Identify workplace hazards and apply appropriate safety controls in line with site procedures and regulations.
• Collaborate with geologists, supervisors, maintenance personnel and mining teams to ensure efficient execution of drilling programmes.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives that enhance drilling performance and safety.

Required profile

• Experienced drilling professional comfortable working in remote, demanding field environments.
• Strong operational discipline and commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams including geologists and maintenance staff.
