About the role
The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) is offering a 2026 internship in its Trade Finance division. Interns will support the bank’s mandate to promote and finance trade across Africa, gaining hands‑on experience with structured trade finance, risk assessment, and transaction monitoring.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and documentation of trade finance transactions.
- Conduct market research on African trade flows and financing trends.
- Support credit analysis and risk evaluation for prospective deals.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior staff.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute fresh ideas.
- Handle data entry and maintain accurate transaction records.
Required profile
- Enrolled full‑time undergraduate or postgraduate student in a recognised institution.
- National of an Afreximbank member country, of African descent in the diaspora, or a non‑African student aligned with the bank’s mission.
- Field of study in economics, finance, business administration, accounting, law, engineering, or related disciplines.
- Strong academic performance and a genuine interest in African trade and finance.
Required skills
- Basic understanding of finance and trade concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
