Logistics & Reporting Specialist – Agricultural Drought

About the role

The Agricultural Drought Logistics and Reporting Specialist will coordinate the operational and logistical delivery of APEP‑supported El Niño activities in Papua New Guinea. Based in Port Moresby, the role involves organising workshops, training, field missions and supporting the deployment of assessment teams across remote provinces.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate operational delivery of workshops, assessments, training and stakeholder engagements, maintaining schedules and activity trackers.
• Arrange travel, accommodation, transport, venues and equipment for field missions and ensure smooth logistics.
• Support procurement processes, manage inventory, and oversee distribution of drought‑mitigation equipment and supplies.
• Act as the operational focal point for government agencies, provincial authorities, partners and service providers, maintaining meeting records and action registers.
• Prepare regular progress updates, logistical reports and maintain accurate records of activities, travel, procurement and inventories.

Required profile

• Degree or recognised tertiary qualification in logistics, supply‑chain management, project management or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of experience in logistics, project operations, event management or field coordination.
• Demonstrated experience organising travel, workshops and field activities in Papua New Guinea.
• Strong report‑writing, minute‑taking and records‑management skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently to remote locations with limited services.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Experience with online collaboration platforms.
• Strong written and spoken English and Tok Pisin.
