Program Coordinator, Agriculture Growth & Livelihoods

About the role

The Australia-Papua New Guinea Economic Partnership (APEP) is a flagship partnership supporting Papua New Guinea's economic development priorities, delivered by the Government of Australia together with the Government of Papua New Guinea. Under the guidance of the Agricultural Growth & Livelihoods Team Leader, the Program Coordinator provides day-to-day operational support to the APEP program in Port Moresby, covering administration, travel, logistics and procurement. The role reports to the Team Leader and works with Program Managers, Specialists and the Shared Services team. It is open to Papua New Guinea citizens only, starts in January 2027 and runs long term until December 2027, with potential for extension.

Key responsibilities

• Travel and logistics: organise travel and accommodation for national and international arrivals and departures, liaise with travel and transport providers, and keep travel documentation and the travel planner up to date
• Process invoices, prepare payment requests and submit them to Finance, and assist with per diems and cash advances
• Keep relevant registers, including the travel register, up to date
• Events management: organise meetings and events, including quotations, catering, room and equipment bookings and room set-up
• Finance: process and record quotations, invoices and other finance documents accurately and efficiently
• Ensure all finance, travel and procurement policies and procedures are followed

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in general administration and office support
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, manage multiple tasks and set priorities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to work across teams
• Excellent computer proficiency, particularly in MS Office
