Program Manager – Immunization

About the role

The Santos Foundation is seeking a Program Manager – Immunization to lead strategic planning, implementation and continuous improvement of provincial and national immunisation programmes across PNG. Based in Port Moresby, you will ensure equitable access to vaccines, manage key partnerships and deliver measurable health outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Support Provincial Health Authorities with planning, implementation and delivery of immunisation programmes.
• Develop annual workplans, schedules and budgets aligned with Foundation priorities.
• Manage relationships with the National Department of Health, PHAs and implementing partners.
• Coordinate routine and hard‑to‑reach vaccination activities, including patrols.
• Monitor programme performance, implement corrective actions and ensure vaccine cold‑chain integrity.
• Lead reporting for donors, Board, executive and senior management.
• Integrate GEDSI, safeguarding and community‑engagement principles into all activities.
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation, learning and evidence generation.
• Manage programme risks and ensure compliance with governance requirements.
• Mentor and develop programme staff and partners, identifying sustainable health‑system strengthening opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale community health programmes.
• Demonstrated work with government health agencies (NDoH, PHAs) and development partners.
• Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams and managing budgets.
• Degree in Public Health, Medicine, Nursing, Health Management or related field; postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Willingness to be vaccinated or hold a recognised vaccination card.
