Research & Policy Advisory Panel for APEP

About the role

The Australia‑Papua New Guinea Economic Partnership (APEP) is establishing a Research & Policy Advisory Panel to support evidence generation, translation and application across its four engagement areas. Panel members will be engaged on a short‑term basis to provide research, analysis, policy advice, peer review and related technical services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide research, analysis and policy advice across APEP’s engagement areas.
• Conduct peer review and technical quality assurance of research outputs.
• Translate evidence into policy briefs, discussion papers and other dissemination products.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in economics, public policy or a related discipline.
• Experience conducting research, analysis or policy advisory work, preferably in Papua New Guinea or comparable contexts.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, able to present findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Economic modelling and fiscal analysis.
• Quantitative data collection, statistical analysis and data visualisation.
• Survey design and qualitative research methods including interviews and focus groups.
• Policy brief writing and rapid evidence synthesis.
