Senior Project Engineer - Oil & Gas Projects

About the role

Monadelphous is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join its PNG Operations team until mid-2028. The role is based in the Brisbane office until December, then on site in Papua New Guinea on a FIFO 4:4 roster. It covers project management, estimating, procurement, contractual correspondence, quality assurance and stakeholder management for a programme of works.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of complex engineering projects through to commissioning and handover.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets and risk mitigation activities.
• Develop and execute commissioning strategies, plans and schedules.
• Work closely with client representatives and deliver to their requirements.
• Manage the interface between engineering and project delivery teams to maintain compliance with specifications, schedules and contract.
• Supervise the resolution of technical queries.

Required profile

• 5+ years of on-site project engineering or coordination experience on large-scale resources oil and gas projects.
• Australian-recognised tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant trade certificate.
• Front-end commissioning experience in bid, tender, shutdown and project environments, covering planning, execution, testing and handover.
• Strong written and technical skills, with an innovative approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Well-developed communication skills, a collaborative approach and a commitment to a safe working environment.
• Proof of right to work in Australia and a valid passport.
