Survey Engineer

About the role

Trevi Group is looking for an experienced Survey Engineer to support major geotechnical and construction works on the Lihir Project in Papua New Guinea. The role involves planning, executing and verifying high‑precision spatial and subsurface layouts for deep foundation works across international sites.

Key responsibilities

• Install and verify primary and secondary survey control points and benchmarks for piling, diaphragm walls and other deep foundation elements.
• Execute precise setting‑out for piles, bored holes, caissons, sheet piles and slurry/diaphragm walls according to design specifications.
• Conduct as‑built surveys to confirm depth, verticality and coordinate accuracy of installed foundations.
• Monitor ground settlement, adjacent structure movement and inclinometer readings using optical/GPS instruments.
• Process field data with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble or Leica Geo Office and report discrepancies to project managers.

Required profile

• Degree in Geodetic Engineering (professional licence preferred) with 3‑5 years of construction surveying experience on heavy civil or deep‑foundation projects.
• Willingness to travel, work rotationally and stay on international project sites for extended periods.
• Strong analytical, mathematical and problem‑solving abilities, with a focus on safety and HSE compliance.

Required skills

• Hands‑on expertise with high‑precision total stations, robotic stations, RTK‑GPS/GNSS receivers and digital levels.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey reduction software from Leica, Trimble or Topcon.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and other project reporting tools.
