Tax Consultant

About the role

Shishya is looking for a full‑time, on‑site Tax Consultant to join its Port Moresby office. You will advise both local and multinational clients on tax implications of their operations and transactions, helping them navigate complex cross‑border tax environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement tax planning strategies for businesses.
• Prepare, review and file tax returns ensuring full compliance with applicable laws.
• Assist clients during tax audits and manage communications with tax authorities.
• Interpret tax legislation, draft technical memoranda and reports.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver high‑quality service and maintain accurate documentation.
• Support continuous improvement of tax processes.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in tax planning and strategy development.
• Strong background in tax compliance and audit handling.
• Solid understanding of tax law and ability to apply legislation.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Taxation, Finance or related field; CPA/CA preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting and tax software and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Port Moresby and manage multiple engagements.
