Communications Assistant

About the role

The Communications Assistant will support UNDP Papua New Guinea’s Communications Team in creating and sharing high‑quality audiovisual and digital content that highlights the organization’s development work across the country. Working under the guidance of senior staff, the role involves field travel, media engagement, and internal knowledge sharing.

Key responsibilities

• Produce video, photography, reels and social‑media cards for UNDP PNG’s channels, including TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube.
• Travel to project sites to capture field footage, conduct interviews and develop human‑interest stories.
• Maintain regular contact with national and international media, preparing press releases and media advisories.
• Support internal communications by drafting blogs, think pieces and other written materials for senior management.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for communications events, field missions and outreach activities.
