Communications Coordinator – Sustainable Highlands Road Project

About the role

The Communications Coordinator leads strategic communications and public engagement for the Sustainable Highlands Region Core Road Network Project, documenting progress and impact while ensuring donor branding compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic communications and public engagement for the project.
• Document and promote project progress through stories, photographs, videos, case studies and other communication products.
• Support media engagement, public events, community campaigns and emergency communications.
• Conduct regular field visits to capture progress and impact stories, producing photos and written content.
• Develop knowledge products such as case studies, videos, presentations and IEC materials for donors and community awareness.
• Provide orientation and capacity‑building to project staff on content creation and creative planning.

Required profile

• Degree in Communications, Development Communication, Media, Journalism, Arts or related field.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in communications, preferably in international development.
• Proven experience in training and capacity building of staff.
• Fluency in English and Tok Pisin with willingness to travel to remote communities.

Required skills

• Photo and video production.
• Editorial writing and graphic design.
• Media relations.
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Apple software for video, photo and design.
• Computer proficiency on both Mac and PC platforms.
