Senior Communication Associate (G-7) – Fixed Term, Port Moresby

About the role

Under the supervision of the Communication Specialist, the Senior Communication Associate will help design and implement UNICEF Papua New Guinea’s digital communication strategy. The role focuses on expanding the country office’s online presence and engaging adolescents and young people in advocacy and programme initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of the digital strategy aligned with UNICEF’s communication and advocacy priorities.
• Prepare and launch online campaigns and manage backend portals and content for the country office.
• Monitor and evaluate digital activities and provide administrative assistance as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum secondary education; preferably complemented by courses in social or digital communication.
• At least 7 years of experience in digital communication, social media, marketing or youth engagement.
• Fluency in English; fluency in Tok Pisin is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Multimedia content creation and graphic design using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Social media management across platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, YouTube and Vimeo.
• Website administration and content management using HTML, WordPress and Drupal.
• Use of analytics tools including Google Analytics for performance monitoring.
