About the role
The Coordinator of Student Life and Engagement supports the Director of Student Life, Engagement, and Leadership in delivering a comprehensive student experience at IUE. This role oversees student conduct, welfare, programming, and collaboration with university staff, families, and the community.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Office of Student Life on code of conduct, alternative education, welfare, attendance, guidance services, and campus safety.
- Collaborate with university staff, families, and community partners to develop and implement services and programs.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate non‑academic educational programs for continuous improvement.
- Incorporate policies and procedures that comply with laws and regulations.
- Ensure legal and ethical practices that enable each student to achieve high performance and life readiness.
- Develop and update non‑academic programs and write related policies.
- Support Residence Life and Housing supervision as needed.
- Participate in the IUE Pastoral Care Team and attend student code of conduct board hearings.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Student Life, Engagement, and Leadership.
Required profile
- Educational qualification: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS).
- Knowledge of PNG culture, psychology, religious and spiritual needs, organizational systems, public education, racial equity, social justice, culturally relevant instruction, and special education laws.
- Minimum five years of professional experience, preferably in higher education or office‑based roles.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Effective use of email for communication.
