Assistant Trainer & Assessor – Onboarding Programme

About the role

The Assistant Trainer and Assessor will deliver practical sessions and tutoring groups for the onboarding programme at Laba Training Academy. You will support trainees in labour, camp, kitchen and stores streams, and act as the second assessor to verify competency through observation. The role also requires you to uphold Laba Holdings’ vision, mission and values, and to work in line with the company’s QHSE policies and stop‑work authority.

Key responsibilities

• Run practical sessions across labour, camp, kitchen and stores streams.
• Facilitate tutoring groups for trainees requiring additional support.
• Serve as second assessor, confirming competency by direct observation.
• Prepare training areas, equipment and personal protective equipment for each cohort.
• Uphold Laba’s vision, mission and values in all training activities.
• Ensure compliance with QHSE policies and exercise stop‑work authority when necessary.

Required profile

• Trade or plant site experience in a practical stream (labour, camp, kitchen or stores).
• Assessor training will be provided by the Academy.
• Fluent in English and Tok Pisin.
