Head of Fraud Operations & Capability

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Fraud Operations & Capability to lead BSP’s Group-wide fraud detection, monitoring and fraud capability functions. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence across fraud monitoring activities, enhancing fraud detection capabilities, reducing fraud losses within risk appetite, and building fraud awareness across the organisation and customer base.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee fraud detection, monitoring and alert management activities across cards, payments and digital channels.
• Enhance fraud monitoring systems, analytics, controls and operational processes to improve effectiveness, reduce fraud losses and minimise false positives.
• Partner with Technology, Operations, Retail, Compliance and the Head of Group Investigations to strengthen fraud risk management across the Group.
• Develop and deliver fraud awareness, training and capability uplift programmes for employees and customers.
• Monitor performance metrics, prepare executive reporting and provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision‑making.
• Lead, coach and develop high‑performing fraud operations teams, ensuring strong governance, service delivery and compliance with regulatory and card scheme requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in fraud operations, fraud intelligence, financial crime or a related discipline within banking, financial services, professional services or law enforcement.
• Proven experience leading fraud operations teams and managing stakeholders within complex environments.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and reporting capabilities to support executive decision‑making.
