About the role
The Programme Finance Associate supports UNFPA’s country programme in Papua New Guinea by providing financial, administrative and programme‑related assistance. Working closely with the Programme and Operations teams, the associate ensures that programme implementation is well‑coordinated, compliant with UN/UNFPA policies, and efficiently resourced.
Key responsibilities
- Provide financial and administrative support to programme activities, ensuring compliance with UN/UNFPA rules and regulations.
- Assist the programme team with planning, coordination and logistical arrangements for implementing partners.
- Maintain accurate financial records, support budgeting, and contribute to financial reporting.
- Facilitate effective communication within the office and support knowledge‑management processes.
- Offer operational guidance and procedural support to strengthen programme delivery.
Required profile
- Experience in financial administration or programme support within an international or development context.
- Familiarity with UN or UNFPA financial and administrative procedures.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Commitment to UNFPA’s mission and values, including gender equality and human rights.
