Security Guard (Port Moresby Temple)

About the role

The Special Projects Department is looking for a dedicated Security Guard to protect temple facilities, employees, visitors, and guests in Port Moresby. This permanent, full‑time role involves safeguarding the premises from fire, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry while providing first‑aid assistance and responding to emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols and inspections of buildings and grounds during assigned shifts.
• Check doors, windows, gates and other access points to ensure security.
• Identify and report security risks, safety hazards and potential unauthorized entry points.
• Assist employees, visitors and guests with information and directions.
• Respond to security incidents, disturbances, threats and emergencies, coordinating with emergency services as needed.
• Render first‑aid assistance and arrange medical response when required.
• Complete security reports and maintain accurate incident records.
• Participate in ongoing security training and be available for emergency situations.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education or equivalent security training (preferred).
• 2–3 years of experience in security, law enforcement, military or related fields.
• Ability to obtain required security certifications (CPR, First Aid, Basic Security Procedures) and maintain annual recertification.
• Strong judgment, problem‑solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Legal right to work in Papua New Guinea and ability to pass a police background check.
