About the role
The company is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join the executive leadership team of a large logistics operation in Papua New Guinea. This senior strategic role will oversee financial performance, governance and commercial stewardship across a diverse logistics business.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial leadership across the logistics business.
- Lead all finance, accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and control activities.
- Act as a trusted financial and commercial advisor to the Executive Leadership Team.
- Drive financial performance, profitability, cost optimisation and operational efficiency.
- Provide commercial analysis to support pricing, growth initiatives and service expansion.
- Lead capital planning, investment evaluation and business case governance.
- Partner with operational leaders on major fleet, infrastructure and asset investment decisions.
- Drive working capital optimisation, liquidity and cash flow discipline.
- Ensure strong financial governance, internal controls, statutory compliance and risk management.
- Oversee internal and external audit requirements.
- Evaluate strategic opportunities including acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships.
- Develop financial dashboards, KPIs and management reporting to support decision‑making.
- Lead and develop a high‑performing finance team.
- Support finance transformation, ERP optimisation, automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- A degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline with CPA, CA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 12 years’ experience in senior financial leadership positions.
- Proven experience in financial management, commercial business partnering and investment governance.
- Experience operating within a large, complex and/or multi‑site organisation.
- Strong capability across budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and performance management.
- Demonstrated experience in capital management, cost control and business performance improvement.
- Knowledge of financial governance, risk, audit and internal controls.
- Excellent commercial judgement and ability to influence senior operational and executive stakeholders.
- Leadership experience developing high‑performing finance teams.
- Experience in logistics, transport, industrial or other operationally complex sectors is highly regarded.
