Chief Financial Officer - Logistics

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join the executive leadership team of a large, established logistics operation in Papua New Guinea. The CFO will provide strategic financial direction and act as a trusted commercial advisor, driving profitability and sustainable growth across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership for the logistics business.
• Oversee finance, accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and control activities.
• Advise the Executive Leadership Team on commercial and investment decisions.
• Drive financial performance, cost optimisation and operational efficiency.
• Lead capital planning, investment evaluation and business case governance.
• Partner with operational leaders on fleet, infrastructure and asset investments.
• Manage working capital, liquidity and cash‑flow discipline.
• Ensure strong financial governance, internal controls, statutory compliance and risk management.
• Oversee internal and external audit requirements.
• Evaluate strategic opportunities such as acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships.
• Develop financial dashboards, KPIs and management reporting.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing finance team and support finance transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Minimum 12 years of senior financial leadership experience.
• Proven experience in financial management, commercial business partnering and investment governance.
• Experience in large, complex or multi‑site organisations.
• Strong capability in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and performance management.
• Demonstrated expertise in capital management, cost control and business performance improvement.
• Deep knowledge of financial governance, risk, audit and internal controls.
• Excellent commercial judgement and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Leadership experience developing high‑performing finance teams.
