Cost Controller

About the role

Join K92 Mining’s surface haulage team as a Cost Controller, responsible for daily, weekly and monthly cost review, tracking and analysis of the Surface Haulage Services department. You will support the department head with forecasting, expenditure tracking and cost reporting to ensure financial control of the haulage operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver cost reports on time in line with mine department project controls procedures.
• Manage and track capital expenditures and re‑classify GL costs for Surface Haulage Services.
• Provide daily, weekly and monthly cost accruals, forecasts and end‑of‑week cost review reports.
• Liaise with section heads to monitor cost spending and its impact on the budget.
• Track daily consumables (fuel) and physical quantities hauled, and produce weekly consumable reports.
• Perform other administrative duties as directed by the immediate supervisor.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Business Management or a related field.
• At least 3 years experience as a cost controller or specialist, preferably in brownfield or underground mining environments.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Pidgin.
• Ability to meet schedules and deadlines with sound planning and organisational skills.
• Valid PNG driver’s licence and ability to obtain a site licence.
• Capability to work with minimal supervision and maintain good relationships with colleagues.
