Data Analyst – Management Information System (APSP)

About the role

The Australia PNG Subnational Program (APSP) is seeking a Data Analyst to support the implementation and ongoing use of its new Management Information System (MIS). Based in Port Moresby, the role will report to the APSP Performance and Learning Lead and will be responsible for ensuring that performance and operational data are accurate, complete, and readily available for decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain the APSP MIS, including registers, trackers, dashboards and reporting tools.
• Coordinate data migration, upload, cleaning, validation and routine updates from program components, partners, surveys and financial sources.
• Develop, maintain and improve MIS‑generated reports, dashboards and Excel‑based reporting tools that visualise performance, indicators, activity milestones and beneficiary reach.
• Provide user support, guidance and quality‑assurance checks to ensure data is secure, audit‑ready and consistently used across the programme.
• Collaborate with MERLA colleagues, component teams, operations staff and external partners to align data workflows with APSP’s governance requirements.

Required profile

• PNG citizenship (open to PNG citizens only).
• Experience in data management, analytics, reporting and data visualisation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple programme teams and external partners.
• Strong attention to data quality, security and audit readiness.

Required skills
