Diamond Drilling Supervisor (Mining & Natural Resources)

About the role

The Diamond Drilling Supervisor will lead and coordinate diamond drilling operations that support exploration, resource definition, and mine development programmes in remote mining locations. Working closely with geologists, engineers and maintenance teams, the role ensures safe, productive and high‑quality drilling outcomes across both underground and surface environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and mentor drilling crews, planning daily schedules, manpower allocation and equipment utilisation to meet production targets.
• Monitor drilling productivity, metreage, core recovery rates and equipment performance, reporting on KPIs and downtime.
• Enforce health, safety and environmental procedures, conduct inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance, consumables management and troubleshooting to maximise rig availability.
• Prepare operational reports covering production, equipment status and workforce activities.

Required profile

• Technical certification, trade qualification or equivalent practical experience in drilling.
• Minimum 5 years of professional diamond drilling experience and at least 2 years supervising crews.
• Proven track record of achieving productivity, core recovery and safety targets in underground and/or surface drilling.
• Experience working in remote, camp‑based or FIFO/DIDO mining environments.
• Strong leadership, planning and communication skills with ability to manage multicultural teams.
