Director, Business Execution – Papua New Guinea

About the role

ANZ is seeking a Director of Business Execution for its Papua New Guinea Institutional Banking unit. Reporting to the Executive Director, Business Execution – AU & PNG and sitting on the Institutional PNG Leadership team, you will lead strategic planning, governance and major change initiatives to drive profitable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for strategic planning, business execution, governance and remediation activities across the PNG business.
• Collaborate with the PNG Country team, Risk, Internal Audit and Strategy & Execution functions to ensure alignment and effective delivery of priorities.
• Drive profitable institutional growth by working with finance, portfolio management and Business Execution teams to generate data‑driven insights.
• Design, communicate and implement change initiatives that improve customer experience and market positioning.
• Manage ad‑hoc business issues, negotiate and oversee contracts, and coordinate with legal and procurement specialists.
• Oversee local physical security policies and maintain strong risk partnerships.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in institutional banking or related financial services.
• Proven track record in strategic planning, governance, and leading large‑scale change programmes.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Commitment to a customer‑first approach and collaborative working relationships.
