Economist Analyst – Transport Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Economist Analyst to join Surbana Jurong’s transport infrastructure team in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. The successful candidate will support economic evaluation, financial analysis and investment planning for major road, highway and bridge projects.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct economic analysis for road, highway, bridge and other transport infrastructure projects.
• Assess project costs, benefits, economic viability and investment priorities.
• Develop and maintain economic models to compare project alternatives and investment options.
• Support feasibility studies and detailed design phases through rigorous economic evaluation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, economics or a related field with a focus on transport economics.
• Minimum 5 years of experience conducting economic analysis of transport projects, preferably funded by multilateral development banks.
• Strong communication skills in English.
