Education Programme Consultant – Port Moresby (11‑month consultancy)

About the role

The Education Programme Consultant will provide technical support to provincial education authorities and partners in Papua New Guinea. The role focuses on planning, implementing and monitoring evidence‑based education activities, including the Smarter Safer Schools (3S) initiative and Global Partnership for Education projects.

Key responsibilities

• Support the planning and coordination of education activities through existing provincial education systems.
• Lead capacity‑building initiatives for School Learning Improvement Plans and quality‑improvement processes.
• Facilitate data‑driven decision‑making and strengthen school‑community partnerships.
• Promote safer, more inclusive learning environments and monitor progress against UNICEF education objectives.
• Collaborate with provincial authorities, civil‑society organisations and other stakeholders to align activities with national education priorities.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in education programme implementation, preferably at provincial or regional level.
• Demonstrated ability to work with government agencies, NGOs and community groups.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and advocacy abilities.
