Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead all finance activities for Airways Hotel & Residences in Port Moresby. Reporting to senior leadership, you will ensure accurate accounting, robust reporting and strategic financial insight to support the hotel’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports.
• Develop and monitor budgets, cash flow forecasts and cost‑control initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, statutory filing requirements and internal audit standards.
• Supervise the finance team, manage general ledger, and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and implement internal controls.
• Analyse financial performance, identify trends and provide actionable recommendations to senior management.
• Support long‑term financial planning and process improvements for the hotel and residences.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; CPA or equivalent highly desirable.
• Several years of senior finance or controller experience, preferably in hospitality or a complex service environment.
• Strong analytical ability, high integrity and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Excel and relevant financial software.
