Principal - Sustainability

About the role

New Porgera Limited is looking for a Principal – Sustainability to lead the delivery and reporting of its National Content and broader social performance commitments. The role will translate strategic sustainability targets into practical programmes, ensure robust governance and drive continuous improvement across the mine’s operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning, monitoring and annual reporting of National Content commitments, capturing progress, risks and improvement actions for internal and external stakeholders.
• Convert sustainability commitments and targets into clear initiatives, supporting local enterprise development and the establishment of local area networks (LANCO) where required.
• Identify gaps and constraints, work with functional teams to define corrective actions and track year‑on‑year performance against targets.
• Develop and maintain a Social Monitoring Plan, including indicators, baselines, data sources and program logic linking National Content to community development outcomes.
• Streamline monthly and quarterly social performance reporting by improving data quality, clarifying accountabilities and building repeatable processes.
• Manage the National Content governance cycle, preparing performance updates, action trackers and decision papers in line with mining development contract obligations and social performance standards.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in sustainability, social performance or community development within a mining or heavy‑industry context.
• Strong understanding of National Content frameworks and the ability to translate policy into actionable programmes.
• Proven ability to work across multiple functions, influence stakeholders and drive performance improvement.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills with a focus on data integrity and governance.
