Project Manager – Fixed‑Term International Assignment

About the role

World Vision is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team in the Western Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea. The role is a 25‑month fixed‑term assignment based in Mt Hagen, responsible for delivering high‑quality project outputs in line with World Vision, ADB, and donor standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute detailed project plans, workplans, timelines, budgets, and risk‑management frameworks.
• Lead the implementation of safe infrastructure and disaster risk reduction interventions.
• Oversee project finances, budgeting, procurement, and ensure compliance with ADB guidelines.
• Monitor project indicators, milestones, and outcomes, providing accurate data collection and reporting.
• Supervise and mentor a team of six experts, coordinating specialist areas and capacity‑strengthening activities.
• Prepare high‑quality narrative and financial reports for donors and internal management.
• Maintain regular communication with ADB, provincial authorities, CSO partners, community leaders, and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Project Management, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in project management, including leading teams of similar size and scope.
• Strong technical or programming experience in agriculture and livelihoods, preferably with exposure to education, gender, WASH, or child protection.
• Proven ability to identify and mitigate risks, solve problems, and manage conflict in complex environments.
• Fluency in English and Tok Pisin, with willingness to travel to remote communities.
