Programme Management Office Lead

About the role

The Programme Management Office (PMO) Lead will establish, govern and operate the PMO for the Strategy & Transformation Office (STO) at Steamships. Reporting to the Managing Director, the role ensures enterprise‑wide standards, drives delivery discipline and supports strategic initiatives such as the Logistics Transformation project.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve the PMO governance framework and standards.
• Lead a high‑performing PMO team of analysts, specialists and external vendors.
• Manage and support workstreams across any STO initiative, providing dual reporting to programme and initiative leadership.
• Own benefits definition, baselining, attribution and reconciliation to financial reporting.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and external consulting partners to ensure delivery outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance or related field.
• Professional certifications in Agile, PMP, MSP, SaFe, Six Sigma, Prince2 or equivalent.
• 2‑3 years consulting experience in a leading strategy or management consultancy.
• 10+ years senior leadership experience in programme, portfolio or project management, large‑scale transformation and cross‑functional team leadership.
• Proven track record of establishing or elevating a PMO and governance framework at enterprise level.
• Experience in benefits management and senior stakeholder engagement.
