Senior Production Supervisor

About the role

The Senior Production Supervisor is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Port Moresby, responsible for overseeing daily production activities in a gold mining operation. The role ensures that production targets are met safely, efficiently and to quality standards while coordinating closely with maintenance, engineering and safety teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate production teams, assign tasks and monitor performance against schedules.
• Review shift reports, track output, downtime and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering to optimise production plans and resource allocation.
• Enforce safety and regulatory compliance on the production floor.
• Mentor and train team members, providing feedback and supporting continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven supervisory experience with team leadership, coaching and performance management.
• Strong background in production scheduling, planning and end‑to‑end production management.
• Relevant experience in mining, heavy industry or manufacturing with a focus on safety and operational excellence.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Technical or engineering qualification, trade certificate or equivalent operational management experience.
