About the role
The Supply Chain Delegate will be based in the IFRC Papua New Guinea Country Office, leading and overseeing all aspects of supply chain management for the US Macro Award project. This role ensures effective sourcing, procurement, warehousing, transport and reporting to strengthen humanitarian response in the Pacific.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement the supply chain strategy for the US Macro Award in line with IFRC Pacific programming.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring and capacity‑building to National Society logistics and administrative staff.
- Support procurement, warehousing, transport and delivery of supplies, ensuring compliance with IFRC standards.
- Collaborate with IFRC finance and regional GHS & SCM teams, and liaise with international organisations on SCM matters.
- Identify logistics capacity gaps, propose remedial actions and deliver training to National Society partners.
- Maintain IFRC fixed logistics assets and prepare regular reports for the Country Office and regional headquarters.
Required profile
- At least 5 years of professional experience in supply chain management, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Relevant university education in logistics, procurement or supply chain management, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in the Pacific region or strong knowledge of its context.
- Ability to travel, work under tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
- Valid international driving licence (manual gears) and cultural sensitivity for cross‑cultural environments.
