Traffic Porter – Goroka Airport

About the role

Air Niugini is seeking a reliable, disciplined and safety‑focused individual to join the Airport Operations Team in Goroka as a Traffic Porter. The role ensures safe and accurate loading and unloading of aircraft, supporting timely turn‑around while meeting regulatory and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Marshall aircraft on the ramp and coordinate startup procedures.
• Load aircraft safely and accurately according to the Load Instruction Report (LIR) and provide read‑back to the load controller.
• Unload cargo and baggage from inbound flights and deliver them to the baggage collection area.
• Perform fuel drainage checks and other safety duties.
• Prepare baggage and cargo makeup for outbound flights.
• Set up and verify serviceability of all ground‑handling equipment for inbound and outbound operations.
• Report any mishandled baggage or cargo to the Senior Traffic Officer immediately.
• Maintain a clean and tidy terminal and surrounding environment.
• Store ramp equipment safely after each day’s operation.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve customers and airlines.
• Loyal, diligent and willing to undertake personal development training.
• Disciplined, rule‑compliant and mature in accepting responsibility.
• Motivated and enjoys hands‑on airport work.
• Minimum Grade 12 certificate; relevant work experience is an advantage.
• Valid PNG driver’s licence and good physical health.
• Male applicants only, residing in or near Goroka with own accommodation.
